No. This semester I have changed my policy. On the other hand, I do understand that meeting a deadline can be difficult at times. Under some circumstances, I do grant deadline extensions. Students should put their requests to me in writing in advance of the deadline. I'll deny or grant the extension on the basis of how well the request is written and the merits of the particular circumstances. Meeting deadlines, however, remains a primary requirement for successful college writers and therefore an essential element of our course.
